Gloria Schermerhorn, our Executive Vice President and head of our Commercial division is retiring this month! Gloria was one of the first employees at MAI and worked her way up the ranks to be one of Fresno’s premier property managers. She worked hard to get her CPM® and CSM designations, one of the few in the Valley to achieve both!
Gloria started with MAI as a Property Manager in 1977 with only five employees – 40 years ago – with no property management experience. In those 40 years she has managed countless properties, square footage and people, has seen the business grow to close to 150 employees – made six office moves to bigger and better offices – and has been a constant for all of our customers including tenants, owners and our employees. She and other long term employees remain the backbone of MAI – she’s a reminder to all of us that when you find a good company, you stay!
I think if asked Gloria will remember the fun she had with us over the years – the many holiday parties, field trips, community events, awards ceremonies and the list goes on. She has been an active participant in so much over the years – she will be missed by everyone. We wish her nothing but the best as she moves into this phase of her life – she deserves it!
